She is taken in by six other survivors—Ranna, Lily, Yu, Fumika, Murumuru, and Rumina—who are trying to rebuild their lives in a sealed-off high-rise building. However, their fragile peace is shattered when a man rescued alongside Mikoto is brutally murdered.
With the killer among them and danger lurking around every corner, the group must uncover the truth behind the murder while dealing with rising tensions, zombie believers, and whispers of a deranged strangler.

Will There Be a Season 2?
As of now, there has been no confirmation regarding a second season. However, several factors suggest that a continuation could be possible:
- Popularity: While not yet mainstream, Murder Mystery of the Dead has gained traction among mystery and supernatural fans. Its unique premise has sparked discussions online and garnered interest.
- Source Material: The original murder mystery party game offers plenty of room for expansion. If the anime’s creators decide to explore more scenarios or characters from the game’s universe, there’s potential for additional seasons.
- Unresolved Plot Threads: Season 1 left several mysteries unanswered, including deeper secrets about Mikoto’s past and the broader implications of the zombie outbreak. These lingering questions could serve as a foundation for Season 2.
